High Point was thriving June 5-9. It was a great weekend filled with networking, note taking, and a heck of a lot of walking.
I left Greenville on Friday and the fun began bright and early on Saturday morning. I made sure to book appointments with exhibitors in advance because slots fill up fast. During these appointments, you learn all about the new trends and get to see (and sit in) pieces you’ve been admiring online for months. I can’t even fathom the number of photos I took. The lighting showrooms were some of my favorites. I’ll take one of each!
It was refreshing to hear that some of these vendors had 2 to 4-week lead times as opposed to the typical 6+ month lead time. It’s crazy out there right now but they’re doing everything they can. I have no doubt that they’ll catch up. However, I always tell my clients that patience is key and install day will feel like Christmas!
When not making my way from showroom to showroom, I spent time either resting my feet or at a happy hour chatting with fellow designers from across the country. Everyone was so friendly and had an incredible amount of insight and wisdom to share.
I was so sad to see the weekend fly by, but I’ll be back in October which will be here before we know it!
Cheers,
Liz
