It’s hard not to notice the number of freshly painted houses in my neighborhood and guess what? I’m here for it. There’s nothing quite like a fresh coat of exterior paint. It’s also hard not to notice the number of people in the local Facebook groups asking for advice on exterior paint colors. Hence why I decided to share my favorites with you guys.
White Dove is one of Benjamin Moore’s more popular paint colors. Designers continue to reach for it for when it comes to walls, ceilings, molding, cabinetry and as you can see here, it serves as an excellent exterior color as well. This is a color I will always have in my neutral arsenal.
Oyster White is much warmer than many of the other whites. It’s certainly not as stark and due to these warm undertones, it looks great when paired with wooden accents as you can see in the photo below. Copper accents would pair nicely as well.
Simply White was named Benjamin Moore’s “Color of the Year” in 2016. With a name like Simply White, you might think it’s one of the brightest whites in the color deck but don’t be fooled. Simply White does have some creamy, yellow undertones. As you can see from the photo below from Vincent Longo Custom Builders, this color serves well as an exterior color. I’m loving these windows and am a huge fan of the shed dormers.
Just like Oyster White, Natural Choice is not stark but rather neutral in the sunlight with beige undertones. It has a timeless appeal and many describe it as “calm and soothing” which makes it the perfect interior neutral as well. I love this photo from Dixon Kirby Homes at dusk. As I mentioned, there’s nothing like a fresh coat of exterior paint, especially when it’s a soft white.
If you’re considering changing the color of your exterior, I hope this has helped you narrow down your choices.
Overall, be sure to choose a warm, creamy hue so your house isn’t blinding in the sunlight. Your neighbors will thank you!
Cheers,
Liz
